We’ve cooked in the Manchester Arndale food court every day since August 2026, so we’ve learnt how it works: when it gets packed, where to find a seat, and how to get in and out quickly on a lunch break. This is our guide for anyone eating there for the first time.
Food court or Food Market?
The Arndale has two places to eat, and people mix them up. The food court is upstairs, near the Market Street side of the centre. It’s a big shared seating area surrounded by counters, from well-known chains to independents like us. The Arndale Food Market is a separate hall with its own traders and stalls. Both are worth a visit, but if you’re meeting someone, tell them which one.
How to get to the food court
The easiest way is from Market Street. Walk into the Arndale and take the big escalator up. The food court is at the top. If you’re coming by tram, Market Street and Shudehill stops are both a short walk away, and so is Manchester Victoria station.
When it’s busy
Lunch, from 12pm to 2pm, is the peak. On weekdays it’s office workers and students. On Saturdays it’s shoppers, and that’s the busiest day of the week. If you want a quiet table, come before 12, mid-afternoon, or early on a Monday or Tuesday.
Finding a seat
Seating is shared, so you can order from different counters and eat together. That’s handy for groups who can’t agree. At peak times, send one person to grab a table while the others queue.
Eating well on a lunch break
If you’ve only got half an hour, choose something made quickly to order, and order before you sit down. A gyros wrap is built for this: everything is in one hand, including the fries. If you want something lighter, rice bowls and salad boxes are filling without slowing you down in the afternoon.
Dietary needs
The food court has a good spread of halal, vegetarian and vegan options. At Lucky Gyros, our full menu is halal, about half of it is vegetarian and about a quarter is vegan. If you have an allergy, always order at the till, not the self-order screen, and tell the team. That applies wherever you eat.
Where to find us
Lucky Gyros is at Kiosk 11 to 12 in the food court. We’re open Monday to Saturday from 10:30am to 8:30pm, and Sunday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. Join The Club when you order and your next fries and dip are on us.
